WEF honours Kamal ‘YGL’ award
KARACHI: Syed Mustafa Kamal former mayor Karachi has been named a 2010 Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, which annually recognizes young leaders for their accomplishments and their potential impact.
The forum, based in Geneva, Switzerland, named 197 honorees this year from 72 countries. A candidate pool of nearly 5,000 individuals was examined by a selection committee.
Former City Nazim Mustafa Kamal and Mohammad Ali Tabba were among the 21 South Asians selected for the honour.
Kamal is first in Pakistan’s history to be rewarded for the award for public service.
