Palestine: Israel's airstrikes on southern Gaza kill one, wound three GAZA, (Xinhua): Israel's overnight airstrikes on the borders between southern Gaza Strip and Egypt have killed at least one person and wounded three, medical sources and witnesses said Sunday. The sources said that rescue teams found Khaled al-Khatib, a 20- year-old local worker, dead and three others wounded in one of the smuggling tunnels that were targeted by Israel's F16 warplanes. Israel's warplanes launched three successive airstrikes, the first targeted an underground tunnel east of Khan Younis city in southern Gaza Strip, the witnesses said. The warplanes came back later and struck the other two tunnels used for smuggling under the borders between southern Gaza Strip and Egypt, wounding at least four Palestinian workers, they added. Rescue teams found one person wounded in the town of Rafah in southern Gaza Strip and another three injured in the targeted tunnels, Medics said, adding that one of the wounded died later. Israel launched three successive airstrikes as a response to rocket attacks on southern Israel by militants at the Gaza Strip which caused no injuries or damages. The Gaza-based pro-Hamas Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) has claimed responsibility for the rocket attack.
