Palestinian medical sources report that at least 20 Palestinians were wounded on Sunday at night during clashes that took place with Israeli soldiers and policemen in Silwan town, in East Jerusalem.
The sources added that most of the residents suffered the effects of teargas inhalation.
Soldiers and policemen were intensively deployed on the entrances of the town preventing the residents from entering or leaving it.
Local sources reported that the clashes extended to Batn Al Hawa neighborhood, Wadi Hilwa and Al Bustan.
Hundreds of policemen were deployed in the areas while undercover forces also attacked the protestors and fired gas bombs at several homes.
