Thank you sister for adding more to the benefits of learning till old age. There is bad effects in not wanting to keep one's mind active; for example research has shown that you become demented, forgetful, lazy and disinterested in life if your mind is not active. I have seen so many very active people in work, always enovative in their work, but once they retire from work in old age and have no passtimes to keep their mind active, they develop all sort of health problems, causing them imminent death at time.

Thank you sister. There is always wisdom in the sayings of our Rasul Sallallahu alahi wassalam. In "learn from cradle to Grave", the mind is always active. once your mind is inactive you develop all sorts of health problems. I have seen many people who are very innovative in their daily work, happy, but once they retire from work because of retirement age in employment, and if they do not have a past-time to keep their mind active, they become demented, forgetful, melancholic, careless about their hygiene and so on, even causing even their imminent death.

jazzak Allah brother u have pointed to a very important factor that most of the ppl in their old age leave all physical and mental activities and they fall prey to many diseases of old age but this habit is also found in some youngsters who just enjoy their life without using their mind and have no intlectual understanding of most of the matters nor they have any knowledge regarding issues they just want to enjoy and pass time without any labour. in my view each and every muslim whether teacher mother father student or working men all must have spirit of learning and this process must not be ceased.
