A Great Dua by Poet Dr Allama Iqbar
Lab pae aath haye dua ban kae Thamannaa meri
My longing comes to my lips as supplication of mine
Zindagi shama ki soorath hoe Khudaya meri
O Allah! May like the candle be the life of mine
Hoe maere dam sae yuhie maere Vathan ki zeenath
May my homeland through me attain elegance!
Jis tharah phool sae hoathi haye Chaman ki zeenath
As the garden through flowers attains elegance
Zindagi hoe maeri parwane ki Soorath yaa rab
May my life like that of the moth be, O Lord!
Ilm ki Sharma sae hoe mujh koe muhabbath yaa rab
May I love the lamp of knowledge, O Lord!
Hoe maera kaam gareebon ki Himayath karna
May supportive of the poor my life’s way be
Dard mandoan sae zayeefoan sae Muhabbath karna
May loving the old, the suffering my way be

jazzak Allah brother its one of my most favourite poems by iQbal that we used to sing in our school and i also sing it some times when in mood.
Door dunya ka mery dam se andhera ho jaye
har jaga mery chamakny se ujala ho jaye

No I am not from Pakistan. Radio Pakistan was broadcated in Mauritius where I was born and brought up.
The population is made up of the Hindi and Muslims among others. And the Hindus and Muslims' great grandparents are from India and Pakistan. Still Mauritius has a good relation with India and Pakistan in matters of Politics, Religions and Other things such as education and Bollywood films and so on. Sometimes the Bollywood Teams come to films their movies in Mauritius.
In short I have the same culture as the Pakistanis and Indians. The spoken languages among others are Hindi and Urdu, except for me I understand very little Hindi but still less Urdu. As a matter of interest I can recite Naats in urdu, like People who cannot read Arabic but can read the Quran in Transliteration with help from Cd and videos.
