MAIDUGURI, (Xinhua): Nigeria's Joint Task Force (JTF) in northeast Borno State said on Sunday that it has killed four and arrested three suspected terrorists during an operation in Maiduguri, the state capital.
Lt.-Col. Sagir Musa, spokesperson for the troops, told reporters that they also intercepted large quantities of arms from the suspects during the operation.
Musa said four suspects were shot dead during the operation.
The arms recovered included a rocket propelled grenade tube, three rocket propelled grenade chargers, 34 tear gas canisters, two AK 47 rifles and three tear gas grenades, he said.
Others were three G3 rifles, four pump action guns, two locally made pistols, three tear gas launchers and one smoke pistol, the spokesperson added.
