    Default On Thoughts.

    Salaam everyone,
I wish to share some wise and/or Golden Sayings as follows from some of Islam's notable Sheikhs, from which we can draw some inspirations or lessons, viz:--

One of the Sheikhs said:--"There are four (4) kinds of thoughts: from God, from an Angel, from Self and from the Devil.
    The thought which is from God is an admonition; that from an angel an urge to Obedience;
that from the self the quest of lust; from the devil the bedizenment of disobedience".
See the Book, "The Doctrine of The Sufis", by Abu Bakr al-Kaladadhi.

    2. " Saying Allahu Akbar-which means God is Most Great, is not indicating/doesn't mean He is greater than something else,
because there is nothing else for Him to be greater than.
It means that He is too great to be perceived by the senses
and too deep to be understood by the intellect. Too great, indeed, to be known by anything other than Him. Only
    God (fully) knows God".
    Sheikh Ahmad Ibn Ata'Allah.

    3. According to al-Muhasibi, "Worldly people react to affliction with impatience: affliction will be for them punishments. Novices in the spiritual path
react to affliction with patience: affliction will be for them purification. While the arifuun react to affliction with
contentment : affliction will be for them signs of their being chosen by God".
From the Book, "An Early Mystic of Baghdad" (Pg. 230-232), by Smith.

    4. Strengthen your outer self with prayer and your inner self with Remembrance of Allah (Zikr). Yahya bin Mu'az, may Allah be Merciful to him, said:--

"Allah created man's soul and made its life dependent on Remembrance. Allah created man's flesh and made its life dependent on prayer.
He created the world, and protection from its dangers is possible only by abandoning it. He created the Hereafter and made it possible to
benefit from it only by working for it".
For further reading, see Ibn Husayn al-Sulami's "The Book Of Sufi Chivalry Futuwwah".
