A Father's Prayer (Dua)
Whatever prayer (dua) is made by parents on behalf of their children, this prayer is accepted by Allah Ta'ala. Hazrat Abu Hurairah radiallaho ta'ala anhu narrates that Rasool Allah sallalaho alaihe wasallam said, "Three peoples prayers is always accepted, a father's prayer for his children, a traveller's prayer and the prayer of an oppressed person."
We learn that three Duas are never rejected and one of them is the Dua of a father for his children. Rather the prayer is made from the heart and those prayers made from the heart are accepted in the court of the Lord of all the worlds. It is very rare to find any father in the world who is not sincere in his love for his children. They are the coolness of the eyes of all fathers. A father brings up his children with great love and tenderness and puts up with lots of hardships. After growing up, children feel they no longer need their father, they move away from his affection and therefore move away from his prayers, and do not attempt to obtain the blessings through them. Just as his kindness was important and necessary during your childhood, similarly his prayers on your behalf are just as important today. If he is unable to serve you today, then it is your duty to serve him and obtain his prayers. His prayers will solve your difficulties. May Allah Ta'ala guide us all to obtain the prayers of our fathers. Aameen
