  • Once a man was walking in his robe, proud of himself

Abu Hurayra reported that Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Once a man was walking in his robe, proud of himself, his hair groomed, haughty in his gait, and Allah caused the earth to swallow him up. He will go on sinking into the earth until the Day of Rising."

    [Agreed upon]
Hadrat Anas Radi ALLAH Taala Anhu reported that the Messenger of Allah Peace And Blessings Be Upon Him has said, “Everything has a heart, and the heart of the Qur’an is Yasin. Allah records anyone who recites Yasin as having recited the Qur’an ten times.”

Whosoever is proud will not enter Jannat. Being proud is evil; when you are proud, you are bound to be jealous. I learned that when Rasulullah (Swallallaho Alaihi Wassalam was happy, he (Swallallahu Alai Wassalam) lowered his gaze. A scholar said "Be proud in your heart, not showing off to the world". It is better to stay lowly and understand how poor people feel. This is why scholars says: "when you are happy, do not clap your hands like non-muslims, just say "Allahu Akbar"
